Bridal Showers

Now that I finally have some extra time on my hands I’ve spent some time up dating the Party Me Perfect facebook Page www.facebook.com/partymeperfect , and my etsy shop, www.etsy.com/shop/partymeperfect. Among the new items you’ll see in the shop are a variety of ducky themed items….I know, the ones out there who know me are probably wondering why it’s taken me so long to come out with ducky items! I wonder the same thing myself…but it’s finally here! The current ducky items in the shop include a 3 tier diaper cake with recieving blanket, a two tier diaper cake (or centerpiece) and a ducky themed gift baskets which includes a 2 tier diaper cake, 3 recieving blankets and a ducky print teddy bear. Take a look at my Etsy page and facebook fan page and please pass it on! I am hoping to grow Party Me Perfect in the next few months and I can do it with your help!

As for other new items in the shop you will see burp cloths and a 4 tier you-decorate diaper cake (a blank canvas that I assemble and you decorate any way you like!). Any items you see in the shop are customizable to fit your party’s theme or color scheme. I also accept custom orders! If you’re looking for an owl themed diaper cake….DONE! Looking for a safari themed cake….DONE! Let me know what you need and I will create it for you!

In my search for another project I landed on soap making. I never realized it was so easy….a little bit of base, a little bit of color and a little bit of fragrance. Mix them up, pour into mold and there you go.  I’ve played around with a few different molds and colors….take a look!

These shell soaps are made with cucumber  melon fragrance

These herb soaps are made from clear base with rosemary, lavender and bath salts

These Asian themed soaps are made with wine coloring and orange fragrance

These massage bars are made with yellow coloring and vanilla fragrance

Each of these are available for purchase in my etsy shop.

Here’s an update to a previous post, Pocket Invitations… A Success. After making the mock up of the invitation, we worked out some details, changed the main card color and went on to make the full set. These invitations are for a baby shower planned in may, but can be customized for any event. The invites consist of a main invitation card and 4 inserts: “special requests”, “RSVP”, “location” and “registry”. Take a look!

Take a look at the pin I created for an upcoming baby shower. The shower (see post: Loving that summer feeling) is planned for May. The theme is set in colors: hot pink, orange and yellow. I wanted a special pin for the mom-to-be to wear. I recently purchased a pin like this one from a craft store for a sock monkey themed baby shower. The colors and themes available were limited so I figured it would be easy enough to create one myself to suit the theme and colors I wanted for this upcoming shower. The great thing about these pins is that they can be used for any occasion….baby shower, bridal shower, birthdays, anniversaries, bachelorette parties….any special occasion!

I’ve been meaning to share this link to the Guest Book Store. This site offers personalized guestbooks for almost any occasion you can think of….weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, anniversarys, birthdays and “other”. The books come personalized with the name of the person/couple and the date of the event. You can also choose from a variety of covers in different colors and patterns. These guestbooks are fun, functional and a great icebreaker! Check them out today! I’ve used them for two events so far and I plan to use them for 2 more upcoming events! I love them!

Last summer I planned a bridal shower for my sister. She had an early September wedding that took place on a sailboat. I wanted her shower to reflect the colors and theme of the wedding.I poured over the internet from site to site to site looking for inspiration and ideas. In the end, I decided to stray from the blatant nautical theme I had originally envisioned and opted to use her wedding colors as the theme for the party. Navy blue was her main color, so I set out to give our nautical bride her “something blue” shower. My goal was for simple, classic decorations that were all tied together without feeling “theme-y”.

Place Settings

Each place setting consisted of a silver charger, blue game packet, white paper fan and two favors- a dog made from a washcloth and a glass jar with navy and white peppermint patty pieces. The bride’s setting also included the bunch of mini roses. The tables were draped in navy blue tablecloths.

Centerpieces

The centerpieces were simple: 3 glass cylindrical vases with red roses (red roses were her wedding flower as well)

Entrance Table

A table holding the guest book, charms and “something blue” vase was placed at the entrance to the garden. For the something blue vase, each guests as asked to bring a small blue item that the bride might use on or in preparation for, her wedding day. Items included:a blue toothbrush, blue mirrored compact, blue gum, blue pad and pen, etc.

Favors

The first favor was a towel favor dog. My sister loves dogs and the very first time I asked what she wanted her shower to be like she said she wanted dogs there. The second, is a white paper fan which was a last minute addition given how hot it was that day. The last were navy blue and white candies in a glass jar.

What I learned from this party: You’re planning process often ends up somewhere different then where it began. Even though our party wasn’t filled with sailboats and sailors it still carried the feel and style of our nautical bride.
